Some people are lucky enough to be surrounded by those family and friends who can support them, whilst there are many in our community who are feeling an increased sense of social isolation. Our Urban Farm Projects help to re-connect and grow our community.

beekeeping

As an established urban farm at the heart of Hull city we took the decision to start keeping bees with the view to producing our very own honey.

creative events

We try to do as many creative events as we possibly can, because that’s when the Rooted in Hull community swells with people and creativity.

wellbeing

There are several studies available detailing the positive effects of gardening and generally being outside in the open air amongst nature.

sustainability

We have created our site in such a way, that if we were told that we had to leave at anytime in the future, we would be able to remove everything and relocate in a relatively short time.

food

Our well equipped kitchen allows us to cater events, as well as run our weekly activities, allowing our community members the opportunity to develop personal skills in a relaxed environment.

Rooted in Hull is a social enterprise based in Hull city centre that promotes wellbeing and sustainability through grow your own food projects, creative workshops and events. ‘We grow people and food’ is what we do, and we have lots of activities on what is essentially an urban farm.

From beekeeping and creative events through to sustainability projects including growing food, solar panels, water collecting and our compost toilet Rooted in Hull has wellbeing at the very forefront of their thinking. Come and pay us a visit.
